In the late 1990s and early 2000s, some boutique wineries, most notably in France and Italy, sought to engage consumers more in the daily operations and culture of being a vintner.
The Inspiration
Independent winemakers, faced with the task of bridging the gap between growers and consumers. The question was simple. How do we get the consumer personally interested and thus invested in the reality of vineyard farming?
The Connection
The connection is created as you begin to feel personally connected to the land, while developing a new appreciation for it and the labor required to keep it alive.
This connection helps the vineyard by using vine adoption fees to cover upfront farming, pruning, and harvesting costs, while promoting sustainable and organic practices.
As an adopted vine parent, you will get hands-on experience rather than just the occasional visit to taste the wines.
Adopted Vine Parents are encouraged to return throughout the season and participate in farming their vines while staying on the property, creating a unique family experience.
